Girls getting free training to revive traditional “Namda” artwork in Kashmir

Srinagar (J&K), November 17 (ANI): Girls of Rainawari region in Srinagar are getting free training to revive and promote traditional handmade “Namda” artwork in Kashmir. Unfortunately, due to the machine-made products including floorings, centuries-old traditional rugs especially “Namda” lost its glory. “Namda’ is completely handmade wool product and considered the best warm furnishing of the valley. Under the supervision of professional trainers, a number of girls are getting free training for the revival of this old-aged rug. Presently, a number of training centers are functional at different places in the valley. With the help of these training programs, girls are becoming more independent.
