PM Modi comforts Mohammed Shami with a hug, Indian pacer expresses gratitude to fans for “support”

Team India faced a heart-wrenching loss to Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Final on November 19. Following this, PM Modi personally visited the Indian Cricket Team’s dressing room and offered words of encouragement. Despite the disappointment, the tournament’s top wicket-taker, Mohammed Shami expressed gratitude towards fans for their support. Taking to X, Shami thanked PM Modi for meeting players in the dressing room. Shami, the leading wicket-taker was exceptionally impressive throughout the tournament. Even after missing his first four games, Shami emerged as a star bowler, claiming 24 wickets. Moreover, India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja described the players’ meeting with the PM in the dressing room as “motivating”. India came close to clinching the World Cup trophy after 12 years but ended up being too far from the trophy.
